Summary: Simon and Katie celebrate their one year anniversary.

Author's Note: The story takes place in December, a couple months after they return from Malta. Simon is working for World Wide, as a reward from Lucinda Walsh for saving Lily and her family. His actual position is not mentioned, but he works within the area so he can stay close to Katie. If he does travel outside of Oakdale, he goes to Chicago to meet with clients and such.
Part 1
Katie woke up early that morning, earlier than usual, but for good reason. Today was her and Simon’s first anniversary and Katie was sure Simon was going to love his surprise dinner had planned for him that night.
She walked over to the window facing the west and watched the kids scurry through the street on the way to school. She opened the window and felt the cold breeze that blew through the town. She turned and smiled as she saw her husband roll over and stir. She quietly walked over the bed and lie down next to him. He felt her snuggle next to him and pretended to still be asleep, he so loved the way Katie routinely woke him up.
She slipped under the covers and pressed her body next to his and softly kissed his neck and chin then nestled against his chest, listening to his heartbeat. She wrapped her right arm around his waist and rubbed the small of his back with her fingertips, sending shivers up and down his spine. He tried desperately not to respond, waiting for more attention. Katie started to make longer, softer stroked up and down his back as she kissed his shoulders and neck some more, thinking how glad she is that she is shorter than him. Getting more and more excited about the thoughts of what is to come, Katie starts kissing his face and concentrating on his ears and neck. As Simon cannot take it anymore, he rolls over and starts kissing Katie passionately.
She giggles and says “You are weakening, my sweet Simon. Yesterday, you at least waited until I got to your…”
“Yeah, well, teasing isn’t nice!” as he playfully smacks his wife’s bare thigh. “I have to get up anyways, I have some business today.”
“But, Simon today is special, today we have something special to do.” Katie whined as she gave him her best pouting face.
“Now, Katie, no arguing. I have to tend to some things. I may be a while, so don’t hang around here, on my account. I don’t know when I’ll be back.” He looked at her lovingly and kissed her on her forehead. She fiddles with his shirt buttons and gently kisses his jaw line. “At least tell me where you are going, and if you’ll be home for dinner?”
“I’m going to Chicago to meet a client and I don’t think I’ll make dinner, but I’ll be home before you hit bed, I promise.” She looks as though she is about to cry and is obviously very upset. “But, I have a very special day planned. Don’t you know what today is?”
Simon is puzzled and shakes his head no. “well, I’m sure it can wait Katie, I have to go now. Don’t worry, I’ll call you later, ok?”
“Simon,” she pauses and smiles” what about breakfast, can we at least have breakfast?”
“Katie…I have to go, now.” He closes the door and rushes back in and kisses her very passionately. “Bye, Katie.”
Katie grimaces and starts looking around the room. She sits down and starts talking to herself. “Katie, Frasier. You are not going to spend your anniversary alone. Maybe when Simon calls me later I could think of some reason why he has to come home early. I know…” she smiles and picks up the phone and dials.
“Hi, Tom? Is Margo there? Hmm, is she at the station? No, nothing’s wrong. I just wanted to talk to her. Ok thanks. Bye!”
Simon is looking in a store window and approaches the counter and asks the salesman where the bridal jewelry is. As he looks in the diamond case, he feels a hand on his shoulder. “Fancy seeing you here, Simon” says a familiar voice.
He turns around to see Craig Montgomery. He grins and says, “I see they let you out. Or did you let yourself out?” Simon says sarcastically.
“No, Simon, see white-collar prison is unlike any other. If you look over my shoulder you will see a very heavily armed traveling companion. Even tax evaders aren’t trusted out on their own anymore.” He says smirking. “ Now, why are you here Simon?”
“Well, Craig, if its any of your business I am buying Katie a anniversary present.”
“Those are engagement rings, Simon. You are already married.”
“Yes, but I am planning on asking Katie to renew our vows and have a real wedding this time. She deserves this.” He motions to the salesclerk to see a couple rings out of the case and picks out two and holds them up to the light. Craig tells him to choose the round cut solitaire, but Simon chooses the pear cut stone instead. Simon asks the clerk to check what size the ring is and luckily, it is Katie size- size 6. The salesclerk explained the particulars of the ring to him and Simon tells him that he also wants to order matching wedding bands with “Other Beautiful Things” engraved in the underside.
Katie goes to her closet and starts to get dressed. “Oh, Simon- I sure hope you learn to appreciate all my hard work pleasing you.” She sighs out loud.
Katie walks into the Oakdale PD and she spots Jack arguing with someone on the phone. He notices her looking around and puts his phone call on hold.
“Katie Frasier! You are looking prettier everyday.” He smiles warmly and genuinely at the always-bubbly blonde in front of him.
“Now, Mr. Snyder, I am a married woman! “ she smiles brightly. “Have you seen my big sister anywhere?”
“Check her office? Oh, hey, how are you and Simon getting along? You know, if it weren’t for you and Simon, I wouldn’t have my family back together.”
“We are great! Today is our first anniversary!”
“That is today isn’t it?” asks Margo as she comes downstairs from her office. “You know, Katie to tell you the truth, I’m really surprised that this day actually came.” Margo eyeing her, but in a jokingly tone, that Katie is all too familiar with, asks, “Well, cut to the chase. Why are you here?”
“I have come to take you, my favorite sister, to an early lunch!” Margo smiles and agrees that they need some sister time, anyhow.
Jack waves to the sisters as the walk out the door.
Katie and Margo walk into a nice little café that is loaded with quaintness and charm. They sit down at a small round table and a waitress walks up and asks for their drink order. Katie and Margo both order Iced Tea with an orange slice.
“So, Katie, what is the reason for our little luncheon?”
“Well, Margo, I wanted to ask you what you gave Tom for your first anniversary. I was too little to remember when you guys first got married and’’
“Katie, why are you just now asking me this? Usually you have things like this planned way in advanced.”
“Well, I did have a huge dinner surprise for Simon, but all of a sudden he had to go to Chicago for business. So, my plans fell through and I have to backtrack. Honestly, I think he may have forgotten our anniversary.”
“Katie, why don’t you just modify your plans a little? Instead of dinner, do dessert. I can’t believe I’m about to tell my baby sister this, but here it goes. But, You are the dessert/present. Buy a very tempting negligee and have him unwrap you.”
Katie smiles and tells Margo she is a genius.
As Simon pulls into parking lot, he pulls the ring box out of a bag and looks at the ring and smiles. “God, Katie, I do love you”. She takes out his cell phone and makes call. “Isaac? I got the ring and I am on my way to help you set up. Everyone has called to RSVP? Great! Yeah, I’ll call Katie straight away. No worries. Later” He looks up and sees his reflection in the rear view mirror and says out load “you are a fright Frasier”. Simon looks very nervous and excited all at once. He smiles and clears his throat and calls Katie.
Katie and Margo are finishing up lunch and are walking out of the café. She tells Margo good-bye and hears her phone ring.
“Hello? Simon! Hello you! Um, nope not busy. Just had lunch with Margo.”
“Listen Katie, I am just about done here in Chicago, but Isaac called and needs me to fill in for his bartender. Yes, I know, but he said he’d pay me double what he pays his other guy. I’ll be late, so don’t wait up. And don’t come down to Java Underground, you here me!”
“Simon, wait! I love you!” She hangs up frowning.
She smiles and thinks to herself “Yeah, right I’m not gonna show up there tonight. Forget sexy nightwear, I’m think I’ll buy a sexy new dress to make him drop in his tracks!
Simon and Isaac are finishing up at the club as guests arrive for Katie’s surprise anniversary party. Margo and Tom are the first to arrive with Casey and Adam in tow to help Simon prepare. Bob and Kim, Hal and Emily, Bryant, Jennifer and Abigail soon follow behind.
Margo walks up to a very nervous, but very handsome Simon donning a new suit.
“Simon, I really am happy for you and Katie. She really loves you and it is obvious that you love her wholly.”
“To tell you the truth Margo, I’m scared to death! She thinks I am working and she was really mad earlier. She might flip out on me when she walks through that door.” Simon glances up towards the entrance to Java Underground.
Margo smiles and tries to consol Simon. She motions Tom and Bob over to help reassure a very nervous Simon while Margo watches for her mother.!
Katie is perusing the racks at BRO and notices THE dress that will absolutely floor Simon. It is a periwinkle tube sheath dress that fit Katie as though it as made solely for her. Lisa notices how amazingly beautiful she is and walks over and knowingly asks her what the occasion is.
“I am planning on surprising my most handsome hubby. Today is our anniversary, you know.” Katie is brighter than a halogen bulb at this moment and Lisa shows Katie the perfect pair of slides and all the accessories to enhance her radiant beauty!
As Katie walks up to the entrance to Java Underground, she hears the music outside and her heart and mind start racing. Katie knows Simon will be very angry at her for showing up and “bothering” him at work, but it was worth is to see him get jealous as she turns away tons of hot looking guys, after accepting drinks, of course. She opens the door and seeing that Java Underground is packed feels a little less nervous, Simon isn’t one for causing a scene anymore. She noticed him standing at the bar with his back towards the door. She walks down the steps with her sexy “come hither walk” and he can feel her presence and turns and smiles at her. She now notices all the people are her friends and family and everyone is smiling. She now sees the banner behind her that says “HAPPY 1ST ANNIVERSARY SIMON AND KATIE”.
“Oh Simon! I don’t know what to say, I-” just then Simon gets down on one knee and presents the felt covered box. “Kathryn Ann Peretti Frasier, will you marry me, again?” Simon has a tear rolling down his cheek and Katie kneels down and wraps her arms around him and says “of course! And I would marry you a million times more!” The two kiss passionately and Margo and Lyla are smiling and very happy to see Katie so happy. “Katie, I love you” This is the first time Simon has actually said these three words out loud and in front of people. Katie is so happy she is crying.!
Part 2
As the front door to the house that they rented after returning from Malta opens, you see Simon carrying Katie in his arms and over the threshold. He makes his way through the front room into the bedroom to the left of the hall. Simon and Katie are kissing heavily and now he lays Katie on the bed and slips her shoes off as he caresses her legs up to her knees and her thighs. She starts to sit up and he softly lays her down. He is directly above her now and he showers her collarbone and shoulders with soft kisses. She fiddles with his tie and he sits up and she helps him take his jacket off. He pulls at this tie and pulls it off over his head. She starts unbuttoning his shirt and he is rubbing her shoulders and arms. He reaches around and unzips her dress. His shirt is fully unbuttoned and she starts kissing his bare chest. He is rubbing her back and making her shiver with anticipation they are breathing heavily and looking deep into each others eyes.
“Katie, I want to start a family with you soon. But, for tonight I just want to make love to my beautiful wife. I love you so much and I have for a long time now. Almost losing you, not once but twice, made me realize that. I am sorry it just took me this long to actually prove my love to you.”
“Simon, you didn’t have to prove it to me, I knew. You had to prove it to yourself.”
Katie rises up on her knees and lets her dress fall. She is completely naked in front of Simon. Her breasts are eye level and Simon kisses them softly until Katie quietly moans with pleasure. Simon rises up on his knees so that she can feel him next to her. His warm skin against her made her sigh deeply and she could finally believe that he wanted her for her. He caresses her body as the kiss and she starts undoing his belt. She pulls his belt out of the belt loops so fast it makes a “zip” noise. She undoes the tab closure on his slacks and unzips the fly.
Still kissing each other, Simon stands up and let his pants fall to the floor and slips off his boxers. He does all this without leaving Katie’s soft warm lips. He is standing next to bed while Katie is kneels on the bed the are both fully naked now and Katie asks him to make love to her. He motions for her not to talk and he lays her down on the bed. He rolls her over and starts giving her a very sensual massage. She feels tense and he whispers she needs to relax in order for them to fully enjoy each other. After what seems as an eternity to her he leans over and kisses her neck and rolls her back over. His kisses her stomach and up towards her breasts. The softly rubs them until her nipples are hard and fully erect. Then he rubs down her body until he gets to her navel. He looks her in the eyes as he starts rubbing her until she is ready for penetration.
He leans closer and starts kissing her very passionately. As he slowly thrusts into her and she starts getting harder and faster, she rolls him over so she is on top of him. She totally took him by surprise but then lets her have her way and she has a huge smile on her face. As she pulses her body and feels herself close to climaxing, she leans down and starts kissing him. He is smirking and tell s her that he wants to slow the pace down. She lets him rolls back over so he can control the pace better. He whispers that he wants to make love to her until daybreak.
Katie wakes up to the sound of kids outside on their way to school. She rolls over and cuddles into her husband. He feels her move and wraps his arms around her small, soft frame. He kisses her forehead. ”Good morning, my love.”
“God, Simon last night was the best night of my life.”
“I can honestly say that last night was the best night of my life too. Happy anniversary Katie.” He kisses her and the both close their eyes.
