Katie staggered into the bedroom, her arms finally giving up, dropping all ten of her shopping bags.
"Ugh!" Katie sighed and slipped off her shoes, falling back on the bed. She giggled to herself, and thought about the sexy silk black boxers and robe she had bought for Simon. She rolled onto her stomach, and wondered aloud if he'd like the bright red roll of satin ribbon she planned on wrapping around herself on Christmas morning.
"What are you wondering if I'll like?"
Katie lifted her head, lazily, and grinned, "It's a surprise."
Simon laughed, "A surprise? Do I need a first aid kit?"
Katie jumped up and captured his face in her hands, "No, silly." She slid her hands down his back, and felt a little tingle. He was hers, finally.
Simon backed away, "I've got something for you."
Katie smiled, "Simon...you didn't have to...I mean, I'll take whatever it is! I'll love it! What is it? No, wait, don't tell me! Let me guess? Um...lingerie, candy, um...maybe a crockpot?"
Simon rolled his eyes, and walked out, chuckling to himself.
Katie crept behind him, shivering with excitement.
"Here you go." He pulled a little evergreen tree into the room.
"A tree?" Katie smiled softly, and looked up at him, curiously.
Simon lifted her hand to his mouth and kissed the inside of her wrist, "Not just a tree, our Christmas tree. To start off everything right. Oh, and this." He pulled out a slender box, wrapped in pink and gold paper and ribbon.
Katie reached for the gift, and then paused, "But Christmas isn't until tomorrow."
Simon growled, and Katie giggled, "Okay, I think I'll open it now."
Katie carefully opened it, trying not to rip the paper. She opened the soft, white box inside, and nestled sweetly on cotton was a gold ornament in the shape of a rabbit with engraving on the the body.
"Katie & Simon Frasier. Christmas 2001." She read. She blinked and felt the tears slip down her face. Simon reached up and brushed them away, "Don't you like it?"
Katie looked up at him, her eyes shining with tears. Simon felt his heart tug. Katie breathed a sigh, "I love it. I love you. I have never felt this happy and loved."
Simon wrapped her in a hug, gently nudging her toward back towards the bed. "I love you, Mrs. Frasier. I'm going to spend the rest of my life making sure you feel as loved as you do right now. More so." He smirked, "Now I have something else for you."
Katie's eyes widened, "What else? What else could you possibly do? All I need is you."
Simon rolled his eyes upward, "Then look up."
Katie follwed his eyes with her own, "Oh my God!"
The ceiling was covered with mistletoe. There was little bundles tied up with tiny red and green ribbons all above the bed.
"Now, see if you can get away from me any time soon. That's a lot of kisses you owe me here."
Katie smiled, "Well, let's get started then. It might just take me all night."
Simon leaned forward and kissed her softly, "There's one. Merry Christmas, Love."
"Merry Christmas, Simon."
