....."One!" Katie jumped up, tossing confetti into the air. Simon chuckled and swiped at his hair, sprinkling tiny sparkles everywhere. "Happy New Year, Simon." Katie grinned at him and leaned down, kissing him softly.
Simon sighed, "Happy New Year, Katie." He ran a hand down her hair, and smiled, "So....can we go to bed now?"
Katie gasped, and jumped away, shaking her finger at him, "NO! We have to stay up and drink champagne and sing and make our New Year's Resolution lists."
Simon rolled his eyes up towards the sky, "My resolution is to get my wife in bed sometime this year."
"Simon!" Katie turned away to hide her smile. She mustered up a serious look and turned back, " Now, this is serious stuff."
Simon stared up at her, hoping the 'big brown eye' thing would do the trick. Katie choked back a moan and bit down on her lip. It certainly wouldn't do to mess up their karma by forgetting their resolutions. Getting some lovin' would just have to wait.
"Okay, now then," she handed him a glass of champagne, "Here you go. I stole it from Craig. Here we go. I'll start. My New Year's Resolution is to make oodles of money, buy you a RED lambrougini, sorry...no orange, and one more thing...but, you know what, never mind. You are absolutely right. Never argue with an Australian. Let's hit the hay." Katie bounded over to the bed and patted the spot next to her invitingly.
Simon went over to her, gladly, and went down intending to kiss her silly, only to find himself feeling light headed the second she reached her hand up to brush through his hair.
They layed back, and Katie sighed deeply as Simon brushed kisses down her neck. Simon rolled over, bringing her gently atop him, "So, what was that last one?" he whispered.
"Hmmm?" Katie murmered dizzily.
Simon smiled and ran a finger down her spine, "That last resolution?" he said, quirking an eyebrow.
Katie's mind was buzzing, "Brianna."
"Who's Brianna?"
Katie jerked up, "I have had waaay too much champagne." She giggled nervously and looked around the room.
Simon sat up and looked at her, loving her, "Who is Brianna, love?"
She swallowed down the lump in her throat and turned to look him in the eyes. She saw the love there, and it burned straight to her heart. She felt a gentle wave wash over her, "Well, I thought maybe, one day...if we had a little girl, we might name her Brianna. It's kind of like Bryant..."
Katie watched Simon's face, and felt a disappointment start to pinch up as she saw his eyes go dark. She looked down at the bed, and started to think about a way she might be able to make it sound like a joke.
Simon reached over and took her hand, "Promise me one thing."
Katie's eyes searched his and he leaned over and kissed her, "Anything."
"Promise me she'll be just like you."
Katie leapt onto him, squealing gleefully, "Oh, God, are you sure?!"
Simon laughed, "Well, it probably won't happen right away, you know. We'll have to try, and try, and..."
Katie smirked, "Oh yeah? Well, we probably ought to get started right now."
Simon threw his hands up in the air, "Finally! The woman starts to make some sense." Katie bopped him on the nose, and he chuckled, "Come on now, it's only fair. I'll help one of your resolutions come true..."
Katie pushed him back onto the bed, "Well, I guess it is only fair."
